The West Campus neighborhood, in central Austin, is located just West of its namesake, The University of Texas at Austin. It is the heart of off-campus student living, and also home to a variety of restaurants, shops, and services.

At Waterloo, we love exploring Austin and all it has to offer. That’s why we have compiled a list of our favorite things to do in West Campus near the University of Texas at Austin.

Since 1991, Cain & Abels, or “Abel’s” has been a staple neighborhood bar and grill in UT’s West Campus. With a full bar and a wide range of beer on tap, Abel’s provides a fun, laid-back atmosphere for UT students. If you get hungry, they serve a variety of American food and are sure to have something for every palette.

Located in West Campus’ newest hotel, Moxy Austin-University, Bar Moxy is a cocktail lounge offering creative drinks, great music, and a vibrant atmosphere. The lounge consists of an indoor ‘living room’ and outdoor ‘backyard’ space. If you get hungry, Zombie Taco is right next door, a 24-hour taco counter and walk-up window with plenty of options from breakfast tacos to burritos.
